Hawkesbury Council's new Hawkesbury Disaster and Emergency Management Dashboard - now online for public use - provides live updates on road conditions, weather warnings, fire incidents, power outages, flood alerts, bushfire alerts and school closures, all in one convenient location.
Council says the dashboard has the potential to avoid the need to visit multiple websites and social media pages to find accurate, current information during an emergency. It is also a useful tool to help community members prepare and plan.
The Disaster and Emergency Dashboard provides residents with a single point of reference to keep up to date with vital information before, during and after a disaster or emergency events.
It can be bookmarked on a smart device, and is designed to be adaptable to different devices and readily available without the need for a subscription, a log-in or an app download.
Hawkesbury City Council received $30,000 funding through Local Government NSW in 2019 to develop the dashboard.
It can be accessed via Council's website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au, by clicking on the Emergencies tab, or directly at http://disaster.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au.
