Moving with the changing times, Richmond Regent Twin Cinema is offering filmgoers the ultimate indulgence ... having a screening to themselves and their friends.
Movies on Demand at the Regent is available for those looking for a guaranteed safe night out taking in a flick of their choice.
As owner, (Mr Movies) John Levy says in his mailouts: "there may not be cakes and candle blowing, dirty dancing or cocktails, but we can provide a COVID safe moving outing".
At present, Mr Movies and the team have a list of films distributed via Disney available for private screenings. For groups of up to 20 guests the price is just $200, with an additional charge for each extra guest, to the max per COVID rules.
Movies currently available include a host of classics like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Edward Scissorhands, The Fly, Hocus Pocus and Maleficent.
The complete list of available films is available at the Regent's website.
As well as the Disney titles, there is a range of other films, which attract a higher film hire charge of $500, so a group of 50 would be wise.
Mr Movies says that it generally takes about two weeks notice to set up private group sessions, or four weeks for some movies, depending on the availability of drives.
Private screenings can also be arranged for new release titles. In this case the price is $360 for a group of 30, with $12 for each extra patron.
For more information about the packages available visit the Regent at 145 Windsor Street, Richmond and speak with the staff, or email admin@richmondregent.com.au.
As a treat for Halloween, October 31, the Regent will screen the Tim Burton classic from 1990, Edward Scissorhands.
Starring Johnny Depp in the title role alongside Winona Ryder its spooky tone is sure to go down a treat.
Guests are encouraged to dress up for Halloween and maybe score themselves a bag of free lollies.
