Colo High School has installed $20,000 worth of new, modern aluminium bench seating, replacing dated and dangerous seats.
Principal Mark Sargeant said: "These seats have made a positive and long-lasting impact on the school, as students now have a place to go at recess and lunch every day."
The seating is located around the playground, including in shady areas in the quadrangle and outside the Wellbeing Hub.
The seating was installed using a grant secured by Federal Member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman.
"Colo High's P&C and Student Representative Council identified the need for extra seats, and I was really pleased to be able to help deliver them for the school community," Ms Templeman said.
"While it seems like a run-of-the-mill initiative, this is the biggest public high school in the area, and the intention is that the more than 100 parents who volunteer at the school canteen can also use the seating.
"It's a very practical addition to the playground."
