The Third Thursday Book Club which - as its name suggests - meets on the third thursday of the month at Hawkesbury Library Service, is celebrating 10 years of bringing like-minded folk together to share their love of books.
The Third Thursday Book Club began back in September 2010, starting with just a handful of people who wanted to meet new friends and connect through reading.
Since then, it's grown to include close to 30 members, with new people joining every year.
The book club is run by Julia Beaver, a long-time volunteer with Hawkesbury Library Service.
She said the club provided "a wonderful opportunity to discover new books, new authors and new friends".
The book club meets on the third Thursday of the month, from 10am to midday at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor.
Hawkesbury Library Service also hosts a second book club, the Tuesday Night Book Club, which meets on the third Tuesday of the month, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm at the Rozzolli Meeting Room, ground floor, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor.
Hawkesbury Central Library hosts a book kit collection with over 30 book kits available for loan to local book clubs. These include 8-10 copies of a book as well as suggested discussion questions.
To inquire about joining an existing club or starting your own (cost is $80 for 12 months per club/group to use the book kits), contact the library on 4560 4460.
