Government program to help businesses doing it hard deal with money and emission savings

The Business Energy Advice Program (BEAP) will launch in Western Sydney and is funded by, the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources and delivered by Business Australia.

Building on the region's progressive work in developing more sustainable energy practices, Western Sydney councils have partnered with BEAP to help connect local businesses - many of which are currently facing recovery processes, following a very challenging year.

The BEAP program offers eligible businesses free and independent expert support - including a tailored report and resources that can help small business to save on energy and costs.

Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) President and Hawkesbury Mayor Cr Barry Calvert said WSROC recognises that local businesses are doing it tough due to the devastating and continuing impacts from drought, bushfires, and the current COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with the BEAP program. BEAP complements the suite of support services that councils are currently offering to local businesses; resources that are much-needed in these challenging times," he said.

"BEAP connects businesses with useful information and cost-effective resources, while at the same time bringing our region one step closer to a more sustainable energy future.

"The BEAP website is a good place to start. It clearly outlines the sign-up process and contains a wealth of useful information including case studies and fact sheets. Councils are also here to help if you need to find out more."
