History was made as horses took to the track at Hawkesbury for the last time in the 2019/20 racing season.
Hawkesbury Race Club closed out the season on Thursday, July 30 with a seven race form on a heavy track, with various trainers and jockeys looking to lock up premierships.
Heading into the day Rachel King had 12 wins under her belt and despite not adding to that tally she still managed to make history at Hawkesbury Race Club, becoming the first female jockey to win the Hawkesbury jockeys' premiership.
King's biggest opponent Jason Collet won once and placed four times in the season finale, but was still too far behind.
Garry Frazier started the day off well for the Hawkesbury trainers with Calbuco snagging a second place in race one.
He followed this with another second in race three, as Hendo's Magic slipped into a solid position, one length off first.
Unfortunately, Hawkesbury trainers only managed to snag two more places in the following four races.
A third place in race six from James Cummings' two-year-old filly In Flanders and a third in race seven from Edward Cummings' two-year-old gelding wrapped up the day.
Racing will return to Hawkesbury on Thursday, August 20 with the Rowley Mile Race Day, followed by Saddle up for Spring on September 5 and the Pink Finns Race Day on September 10.
