Council asks Pitt Town residents to have their say on road upgrades

While Council has collected $3.5 million to date from Section 7.11 developer contributions (previously known as Section 94) to complete road upgrades in Pitt Town, it would cost $6 million to upgrade the entire road network.

Council is asking Pitt Town residents to have their say on high priority road projects to help Council allocate the available funding.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert said Council has created five options for the Pitt Town road upgrades.

"We are asking you to prioritise your road projects from the most important to the least important, so that we will be spending the money on upgrades that are important to you," Mr Calvert said.

"We want to know what upgrades you would prefer on your local roads. For instance, there is the option of widening Bathurst Street but not constructing kerbing on both sides.

"This would still widen Bathurst Street but it would be $2 million cheaper. This $2 million could be put towards completing the other road options identified.

"Our community members have the chance to be involved by going to Council's community engagement website at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au/ptroads to submit their choices on the survey."

The survey will close on Tuesday, 7 July 2020.
