More than 520 kilometres of fire-affected roads roads across the North East of Victoria have been re-opened following six months of recovery works.
The works included clearing fallen trees and debris and reinstating hundreds of kilometres of damaged road infrastructure.
Regional Roads Victoria regional director Steve Bowmaker said the final 25 kilometres have finally been reopened.
"We've just reopened the final 25 kilometres of Benambra-Corryong Road near Nariel Valley, a task that was impacted by several landslides that tore through the area in the months following the fires," he said.
"A huge concerted effort has gone into getting these roads reopened, so our communities can access their homes, schools and workplaces."
The joint effort between RRV and many other organisations saw more than 250 road signs repaired or replaced, 3795 guideposts replaced and 20 kilometres of tree trimming or removal along arterial roads.
There were also 67 council-managed roads in Towong Shire re-opened.
