Over the next few months, many people are going to experience an unprecedented challenge.
Since the year began the region has been hit by massive fires and floods - and now everyone is facing the uncertainty of COVID-19.
But the team at Total Hearing & Health believe the Hawkesbury region and its residents are resilient and will get through these difficult days with strength and pride.
Director Trish Carter said her and her staff members were ready to assist the residents of the region with all their hearing needs.
"We would like to offer home services to anyone that is concerned about leaving their homes or who has relatives who are compromised with age or health concerns," Ms Carter said.
"Our team is fully qualified to conduct full hearing assessments and hearing aid adjustments and repairs at your home and our equipment is fully mobile."
Total Hearing & Health repair and stock all of the major brands of hearing aids that are available in Australia. They are also independently owned and operated so they are not aligned with any one hearing aid manufacturer.
That means they can offer the best hearing solution from a wide range of different companies and stock all the major hearing aid brands including Oticon, Phonak, Siemens, Widex, Bernafon, Starkey, Sonic Innovations and GN Resound.
You could be eligible to receive services from the Hearing Services program and the team can help you sort that out if required.
"The home service is at no additional cost to you," Ms Carter said. "It's simply our small way of giving back to the community.
"Isolation can be hard to endure and we don't want to have people with hearing needs in our community dealing with their hearing going unattended as well."
Happy client Paul said he didn't realise what he was missing before going for a consultation at Total Hearing and Health.
"If you have a similar problem don't be a goose," he said. "The outside world changed for me overnight.
"Nothing was pushed on to me and every step was explained as it went along.
"Why feel lonely in the midst of family and friends?"
In preparation for the difficult days ahead the team has completed their Australian Government Department of Health module on infection control training for COVID-19 and all of those who work in the clinics take the health and safety of their team and their clients very seriously.
