Hawkesbury City Council has advised community members with properties connected to Sydney Water Pressure Sewerage Systems that are currently experiencing overflow or other problems with their sewerage systems to contact Sydney Water's emergency service number on 132 090.
The potentially affected areas with Pressure Sewerage Systems are Glossodia, Freemans Reach, Wilberforce and Agnes Banks. Council is advised that Sydney Water has sent crews out to work on the situation.
A statement from Council said Sydney Water is receiving a high number of calls currently.
"[Sydney Water asks] you to be patient and to please leave a recorded message about your issue when prompted by the phone system," the statement said.
"As well as providing your contact details, also state that you need Sydney Water to 'raise a job about your Pressure Sewerage System', so that Sydney Water staff can call you back to respond to your needs and send out assistance."
Community members are cautioned to stay out of the floodwaters and to stay clear of overflows from sewerage systems in their yards during this time for health and safety.
