Richmond Bridge is expected to reopen later today (Tuesday) after a massive clean-up effort.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson told the Gazette that crews are currently "removing debris and carrying out an inspection of Richmond Bridge after it was closed due to flooding".
"It is expected to reopen to traffic later today subject to passing inspections and weather permitting," the spokesperson said.
"Motorists should continue to take extra care, follow directions of emergency services and never try to drive through floodwaters.
"Windsor Bridge will remain closed to traffic until water subsides and crews are able to clear any debris and carry out an inspection of the Bridge.
"Transport for NSW carries out a thorough process to make infrastructure safe after severe weather events. This includes removing debris, inspecting and clearing drainage and other pits, examining and replacing damaged sections of the structure including hand rails and the bridge deck, and ensuring the foundations other key supports are functioning."
