Hammond Craft Ski Boats have been on the Hawkesbury River since the 60's and next month they are set to celebrate their 75th anniversary at Dargle Water Ski Park.
The Hammond family, along with their friends and supporters will be descending on the Hawkesbury river to celebrate the long history of Hammond boats and their history on the river.
In 2015, Owner Mark Hammond built the last Hammond boat, "Ruby", for his wife Di, 70 years since his dad, Harry, built his boat in 1945.
Mark used the original Hammond boat mould to make Ruby, which will make an appearance at the reunion.
He hand rolled the fiberglass shell himself and sourced the original, classic instruments for her fit-out.
Ruby will play a very important role in telling the story of these ski boats that continue to provide enjoyment.
Hammond Craft began with Mark's father, Harry Hammond, who in 1945, built his first timber ski boat, a centre mount called Zooma.
During the war, Harry would worked at Garden Island shipyards and returned to his passion of crafting out his classic timber ski boats once the war had ended.
Harry would completely build his ski boats over the course of around six to seven weeks.
The boats moved to a fiberglass mould but maintained their iconic Hammond style, look and power on the water.
Aside from Ruby, Hammond boats have stopped manufacturing their iconic vessels.
"It is a really special occasion," said Di Hammond. "We have such love for the Hawkesbury River ... every year seems to be a new milestone.
"Hopefully we get a good turnout and I have extended the invitation to others ... who are apart of Hammond's History.
"We have a connection to older people in the Hawkesbury ... but younger people have purchased [Hammonds] and are doing them up.
"They are gracing the most beautiful river in Australia in my eyes."
The reunion is to take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.
On the Saturday afternoon of the reunion there will be a Q&A with Mark Hammond, in which he and other members of Hammond tell stories about their boats.
Di is also hopefully to see a Show and Shine, where people can bring their boats, talk about them and share their stories.
The weekend is set to allow all attendees to kick back and enjoy the moments of the event, coming together and keeping the little Hammond Ski Boat dream alive.
Di and Mark Hammond, have sent out a reminder to attendees that if they require a camp site, they will need to contact Dargle Ski Gardens directly to book a spot.
