HSC results have been announced for 2019, and Hawkesbury students have outdone themselves.
Ben Renaud of North Richmond, who attended Penrith Selective High School and gained an ATAR of 99.10, said: "I feel incredibly excited that all my hard work has paid off. I'm also surprised as I did not expect to get quite this high."
Ben was named an All Rounder - students who achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4) in 10 or more units of courses - and a Distinguished Achiever - students who achieved a mark of 90 or above in specific subjects.
He completed HSC-level maths while he was in Year 11, and next year will study advanced science at UNSW.
Arndell Anglican College had 19 Distinguished Achievers: Alison Ommundson, Bethany McGregor, Bonnie Wu, Brianna Ayres, Chloe Harris, Claudia Howard, Connor McLeod, Emma Fallon, Hannah Batchelor, Jake James, Joanna Nanthakumaran, Kurtis McGarrity, Lachlan Roberts, Muir McLennan, Oliver Hoinville, Rhys McPhee, Sarah Pye, Tamsyn Smith and Taryn Phillips.
Hannah Batchelor was also a Top Achiever - achieved one of the state's highest places in an HSC course or VET examination and also achieved a result in the highest band (Band 6 or Band E4), gaining 2nd in the state for Industrial Technology.
Muir McLennan was also an All Rounder and a Top Achiever, gaining 1st in Society and Culture
Bede Polding College had 12 Distinguished Achievers: Bethany Jade Dimech, Brianna Hubbard, Cameron James Deal, Carina Angela Carman Zahra, Hayley Rose Xiberras, Jade Luise Weller, Kate Eloise Ryan, Lucy Pearl Head, Mary Grace Helenor Cavaleri, Piper Ashley Lord, Samarah Danae Vella and Sarah Milad
Samarah Danae Vella was also an All Rounder, and a Top Achiever in three subjects - 9th in Food Technology, 5th in Legal Studies, and 5th in Mathematics Standard 2.
Elske Barker was a Distinguished achiever at Richmond High School.
Windsor High School had two Distinguished Achievers, Annabelle Rose Thompson and Tymika Dorothea O'Toole.
Colo High School had 16 Distinguished Achievers: Alessandro Romeo, Annika Regel, Cassandra Jol, Elaina Torresan, Eliza Ecob, Hayley Forbes, Helen McCarthy, Hollie Deedman, Isabel Egan, Lachlan Plew, Martin Boer-Cueva, Natalie Werle, Reena Camilleri, Sally Chia, Samantha Burgmann and William Potter.
William Potter was also a Top Achiever, achieving 5th in Earth and Environmental Science.
Thomas Miles was a Distinguished Achiever at Hawkesbury High School.
