The Hanna Park Carols are back for another night of celebrating Christmas in the Hawkesbury on Sunday, December 22.
Hanna Park Carols, hosted by Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church, is a free family Christmas event.
The fun will start from 4.30pm with kids' activities, interactive Nativity Scene with live animals, carnival food and drinks, barbecue, tea and coffee, cakes, jumping castle, bungee basketball, face painting, skating competition and more.
There will be fun pre-carols entertainment on the main stage from 5.20pm before the main event starts at 7pm.
From 5.10pm, Kris McIntyre will play a set of favourite cover songs.
Country music artist Rhinannon Cooke will make her 12th Hanna Park Carols appearance, playing a selection of contemporary Christmas favourites including Blue Christmas and Baby, It's Hot Outside.
Inspirational youth performers Iron & Clay will rock Hanna Park and get the crowd's dancing feet and vocal chords warmed up.
The Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church band will lead the crowd in all the favourite carols.
And don't forget, Santa will make a special appearance. As always, he will be sure to arrive in style!
This year the organisers will be taking a special collection up to support local rural firefighters, who have been working incredibly hard this summer in very difficult conditions.
Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church senior minister Phil Evans said he couldn't wait to see the community come together again and celebrate Christmas.
"Christmas is my favourite time of year, and nothing beats seeing the community come together and celebrate this special time," he said.
"I am overjoyed to be a part of such an amazing, completely free community event that brings people together for fun, friendship and to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
"In what has been a challenging time for many in the Hawkesbury community, we can look to the story of Jesus' birth in difficult circumstances as inspiration, and the person of Jesus as our hope."
Hanna Park Carols is held at Hanna Park, Beaumont Avenue, North Richmond. Parking is available on site.
The fireworks component of Sunday's carols has been suspended for 2019. The difficult decision was made in light of the increasing heat and fire danger over the coming days, culminating in an expected 46C on Saturday, as well as the continued impacts on our community by fires in the Colo Heights and Bilpin areas and surrounds. The lighting of candles on the night will also not be permitted, following advice from the Rural Fire Service.
