The Gazette has been following Civic Video Windsor owner Guirong Wu's journey to become the last video shop in Australia for two years now, and Mr Wu's fame is finally moving to the next level, with him having appeared on ABC TV's Gruen this month.
"I have seen a lot of new faces over the last two weeks," Mr Wu told the Gazette.
"Everyone said they saw me on TV. I always thought people were seeing me in the Hawkesbury Gazette. But now they are seeing me on Gruen on ABC TV, season 11, episode 9, 18 minutes in."
This month, Mr Wu has some new Christmas movies in store: A Christmas Coincidence, A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish, Maggie's Christmas Miracle, Mr Christmas, A Star-Crossed Christmas, and Christmas Mail.
The top five most popular new releases are Yesterday, Spiderman: Far From Home, Annabelle Comes Home, The Secret Life of Pets 2, and Toy Story 4.
Brand new in store this month are Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, Angel Has Fallen, Lion King, Palm Beach, Late Night, Descendants 3, Duplicate, and 10 Minutes Gone.
Mr Wu said his two favourite new releases this month were Yesterday, a fictional story featuring music by the Beatles, and Australian movie Palm Beach.
"I like the Beatles music now and I didn't know them before seeing this movie," said Mr Wu of Yesterday.
"The song 'Yesterday' is my favourite Beatles song so far."
He said Yesterday was a "feel good movie with an interesting and funny story".
"A man wakes up one day and discovers that the Beatles never existed, but he's the only one who remembers. He does what anyone would do and steals their music, making it his own," he said.
"In the end this is more of a rom com with the relationship between the two main characters. The music is very good of course, even if you don't know the Beatles very well. Good one for the whole family."
Palm Beach is an Aussie about a big group of family and friends getting together to celebrate a birthday.
"It doesn't take long for things to turn sour as old grudges and secret are unearthed. As the name suggests, this is based in Palm Beach, Sydney. The scenery in this film is breathtaking and will save you a trip to the beach. It feels like a holiday. A good cast of characters played by recognisable actors such as Bryan Brown and Sam Neill," Mr Wu said.
Mr Wu said Palm Beach reminded him of another of his old favourite 'midlife crisis' movies, American Beauty staring Kevin Spacey.
"This classic from 1999 still holds up to this day. If you still haven't seen this one yet or have forgotten about it, I highly recommend it," Mr Wu said.
