IF dog demonstrations, canine best-dressed competitions and puppy races sound like your cup of tea, then get down to Hawkesbury Showground this Sunday, November 17, 10am until 3pm for Dogs in the Park NSW's annual dog event, Dogs in the Park.
Founder, Chris Boswell, said over 1,000 humans and dogs attended the event last year, and this Sunday's event is set to be huge.
"Gorgeous puppies and dogs from the smallest chihuahuas to largest saint bernards and great danes will walk through the Hawkesbury Showground soaking in the sun and enjoying the atmosphere on a blissful Sunday," he said.
"Their will be dog competitions and dog races races held throughout the day. The unforgettable Golden Bone races embrace all dog breeds, where dog lovers see speedy and graceful competitors all in to win scrumptious dog food, gift baskets and personalised ribbons.
"Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? The 'Dog Got Talent' entries will give Australia's Got Talent contestants a run for their money."
He said the standards will be very high for the Fancy Dress Competition.
"This will make the judges decisions extremely difficult whilst cute little puppies will strike a pose for the pup-arazzi," said Mr Boswell.
Locals can participate in dog demonstrations including sheep herding, and watch performances from The Rescues All-stars.
Hawkesbury Dog Training Club will be offering demonstrations, and there will also be market stalls, dog suppliers, free dog show bags, grooming demonstrations, and food.
Locals can also participate in dog competitions including Cutest Puppy, Cutest Dog and Fancy Dress.
Entry into the Showground is free, but there is a small charge to enter some of the competitions.
Dogs in the Park NSW is a not-for-profit organisation holding events around the state to support responsible dog ownership, promoting both pure breeds and dog rescue organisations.
