North Richmond salami producer Goose on the Loose has been awarded with a swag of trophies at this year's fine food shows, including gold and champion deli product.
The team, headed-up by business-owner Adrian Greygoose, have taken-away four major awards for their Duck and Juniper Berry Salami: Gold and Champion Deli Product at the Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards, Silver from the Royal Sydney Agricultural Society, and Silver from the Australian Food Awards in Victoria.
For their Cranberry and Pink Peppercorn Salami, Goose on the Loose won Gold from the Royal Sydney Agricultural Society and Gold from the Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards.
Their Beef with Horseradish Salami won Silver at Royal Hobart.
"We got the Champion award last year [at Royal Hobart] for our Kangaroo with Chilli Salami, which means we got the Champion Deli Product award two years on the bounce, which is very exciting for us," Mr Greygoose said.
Goose on the Loose specialises in a small range of hand-crafted salami, which it has honed over the years.
"We have our Traditional Italian Pork range of salami, and our Unique Range of salami which we enter into awards," Mr Greygoose said.
The range is sold locally at Kurrajong Friendly Grocer, Munro's Quality Meats Wilberforce and Richmond Good Food Market on Saturdays, or buy online at gooseontheloose.com.
