Michelle Hanley is up for Administrator of the Year at NSW sports awards

Attended by the elite of NSW sport, the awards celebrate the achievements of NSW athletes, coaches, administrators and organisations across 13 categories.

Hanley, the Risk Manager and state Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) for Football NSW, has been nominated as a finalist for the Administrator of the Year.

Regarded as one of the most experienced member protection officers in sport, Hanley's passion and dedication to child protection has this year continued to contribute enormously to the safety and welfare of children in football and sport.

Hanley has become one of the most sought-after MPIOs for her expertise in child protection, especially after the release of the findings from the Royal Commission where she was commended for her work in football.

She has worked tirelessly to improve the safety of children through the sharing of her expertise and insights as a speaker at many sport workshops and forums on child safety in sport.

Hanley is a team player who continues to provide support and guidance to her fellow MPIOs in other sport organisations on matters relating to child safety.

During the past 12 months she has contributed extensively to improve child protection through her representation on key state and national sport advisory committees, especially as both football and sport prepare for the introduction of the new Child Safe Principles.

Sport NSW Chairperson, Carolyn Campbell, congratulated all finalists saying they had represented NSW sport with honour and distinction over the past 12 months.

"Our nominated athletes and organisations have excelled at the highest levels and we congratulate them on their outstanding achievements," said Ms Campbell.

"They have made an immense contribution to sport and to our state and have proven themselves to be fabulous community role models.

"This year's nominations in all categories were first class and the chosen finalists uphold NSW's well-earned reputation as Australia's premier sports state.

"These finalists join a magnificent assembly of previous athletes, coaches, administrators and organisations who have been considered as finalists in the most prestigious sports awards NSW offers.

"Sport is an integral part of every community across NSW. Sport promotes healthy living, drives societal change and binds communities together, and our finalists are wonderful examples of inspiration for athletes, coaches and administrators of all ages and abilities."
