Windsor Road has closed in both directions this afternoon (October 22) following a fatal motor vehicle collision near Pitt Town Road.
Police have confirmed a motorcycle rider died following a collision between his vehicle and a truck shortly after 12.30pm at the intersection of Windsor Road and Pitt Town Road.
"The male rider was thrown from the bike and suffered serious injuries," a police statement said.
"The man was treated at the scene however died.
"The driver of the truck was not injured and has been taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for mandatory testing."
A crime scene has been established and the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.
Motorists have been warned to expect delays, and diversions are currently in place onto Groves Ave, Hawkesbury Valley Way and Macquarie Street.
Buses are delayed up to 20 minutes and diverting away from Windsor Road, using Curtis Road, Mulgrave Road and Hawkesbury Valley Way instead. Three stops in the area are being missed, according to LiveTraffic.com.
Heavy traffic conditions are currently being experience in the area. The road remained closed at 3.30pm.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner, police stated.
