A man has been taken to hospital with leg injuries after falling into a trench at Marsden Park.
It is believed the 27-year-old was inspecting the trench for work when the incident occurred this morning (Monday, October 21), a statement from the CareFlight helicopter said.
"A 27-year-old man has fallen into a ditch at a Marsden Park worksite and sustained injuries to his lower limbs," the statement said.
"It's understood that the man accidentally fell into the trench while inspecting it.
"CareFlight's Rapid Response Helicopter team was tasked to help at 9:43am and landed at the worksite. Fire and Rescue NSW was at the scene of the incident to provide access for CareFlight's aeromedical team and NSW Ambulance who were already providing initial treatment.
"CareFlight's specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment to the man at the scene before he was transferred to an ambulance."
The injured man was transported by road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
"CareFlight's team commented on the combined efforts from workers and emergency service teams who worked quickly and safely to ensure the man received the medical attention he needed," the statement said.
