Pupils and staff from Pitt Town Public School brought the last school term to an end with an explosion of colour.
On September 24, the school hosted its first fun run and to the delight of all who took part, decided to make it a colour run, where the runners found themselves covered in brightly coloured powders as they made their way around the course.
The event was held as a major fundraiser for the school's P&C. It was estimated to have raised a profit of more than $16,000.
"All of this money will go directly back into the school and resources that directly benefit all children," said one of the event organisers Karen Lees.
Ms Lees said the event was held during perfect conditions.
"The students enjoyed the course, with a number of fun obstacles, designed to slow them down so they could be splashed with water and covered in brightly coloured powder," she said.
The students raised money in a number of ways, including treating themselves to a novelty hair design offered by a hairdressing team and buying raffle tickets for the prize of a lifetime ... the right to throw something (soft) at a teacher.
"The teachers all lined up and the raffle winners covered the teachers in a rainbow of powder," said Ms Lees.
