Teamwork is the key to success for Daniel Cook, Business Person of the Year winner at the recent Hawkesbury Local Business Awards.

The director of Cook Constructions said he was humbled and grateful to be named the winner but he couldn't have done it without the excellent staff members behind him "every step of the way".

Mr Cook said winning such an award came down to "hard work and long hours".

"On every project we focus on quality workmanship, attention to detail and outstanding customer service," he said.

"We are always committed to providing impeccable service from project initiation through to completion."

Mr Cook said this year's awards were the first for Cook Constructions and offered "some tough competition from other local businesses in the Hawkesbury".

"We were excited to have been chosen as a finalist, but were so surprised and overwhelmed when they announced our name," he said. "We wanted to be involved in the Local Business Awards to showcase the great work we're doing at Cook Constructions to the local community.

"We were also excited to celebrate our success and contribution to the community over the past nine years."

Mr Cook said the awards provided a great opportunity to celebrate the way business is done in the Hawkesbury.

He thanked those who voted for Cook Constructions as well as the clients "who have trusted us with their projects".
