Norwest Christian College will celebrate its 40th birthday next year.
Principal Felicity Marlow said the event would be an opportunity to recognise the school's achievements, reflect on its growth and be grateful for the work of the families and staff who established the school in the early years.
"While the college resides in a rapidly growing suburb with new streets, new houses and new infrastructure projects such as the Metro, the college itself is not new to this community," Ms Marlow said.
"Our story began more than 40 years ago when Pastor Ralph Parnwell, together with a group of pioneering board members, sought to establish a Christian school in Riverstone.
"As a result of a donation made by Dave and Vicki Williams to purchase the land, Riverstone Christian Community School was able to begin with 15 pupils in February 1980, under the tutelage of Mike Carmen.
"By November of that same year the school had grown to 25 students. Today as the college continues to grow from strength to strength we are indeed grateful to these pioneers."

Ms Marlow said the school would host a range of events next year to mark their birthday and wanted to hear from all past and present students, families and staff members who could contribute to an exhibition of memorabilia.
"Hear the stories, remember the history, laugh, give thanks for the past, reconnect and join with us as we look towards the future," she said.
Ms Marlow said teachers at Norwest Christian College were committed to ensuring that each young person in their care "knows they have a God-given purpose and are equipped to capably pursue that purpose".
"To do this, we partner with parents to grow confident, capable and compassionate learners," Ms Marlow said.
"Young people develop confidence in an environment where they are encouraged to know who they are and who they were created to be.
"Our focus on excellence inspires students to aim for their personal best in all that they do."
