Over the past five years principal Tim Lloyd and his dedicated staff have transformed Plumpton High School into a place of learning where innovation, creativity and intellectual rigour are a vital part of the curriculum.

Mr Lloyd, who was named Principal of the Year for 2019 at the Australian Education Awards, said significant numbers of students attain ATAR results above 90 with one recent student attaining 99.3.

In 2018 Plumpton was a top 10 school in NSW for moving students to higher bands in the HSC.

He said students were supported by an innovative well-being structure which developed positive relationships and strong self-esteem and a mindset that promoted courage, complex problem solving, collaboration, leadership, ability to reflect and a sense of contribution as a responsible global citizen.

"This program uses Growth Mindset, Positive Psychology and Choice Theory with teachers trained in these areas enabling them to teach and develop these attributes in students," he said.

There's also a Business and Community Partnership Futures program which has some 40 partners including Citi Group, Amex, Microsoft, ABC, Google, Macquarie University, Western Sydney University and the University Technology Sydney.
