Hawkesbury City FC had two teams in the semi-finals this past Saturday, September 14 with their under 18's and 20's squads both squeaking into the top four after winning their elimination finals the week prior.
The Under 18's finished sixth in the season and were matched up against the top seed, Dunbar Rovers FC.
Unfortunately, they were unable to get the upset, going down 4-0 in what was a great season for the young squad.
The fifth-placed Under 20's came up against the second-placed Sydney University FC side.
Sydney were the favourites despite the two sides splitting their head-to-head matches during the season one win each.
The first half saw Hawkesbury ahead early with two goals from Bryce Maxwell and Callum Elliott.
Sydney Uni responded strongly in the second half scoring three goals to the Hawks' one before Elliot scored his second, tying the match 3-3.
The game remained scoreless throughout extra time, sending the Hawks to a penalty shoot-out for a second straight week.
A dominant 4-1 performance then booked them a berth in the grand final against top seed Dulwich Hill FC at Ilinden Sports Centre on Saturday, September 21.
