A high-ranking member of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang has appeared in court after a 9mm pistol and loaded magazine was discovered at Riverstone.
Officers attached to Strike Force Raptor conducted a search of a Junction Road home about 7am yesterday (August 14) as part of ongoing targeting of illicit activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs.
"During the search, police located a 9mm pistol and loaded 9mm pistol magazine," a police statement said..
"The firearm was seized for further forensic and ballistic examination."
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Riverstone police station, where he was charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol, not keeping a pistol safely, acquiring a pistol subject to a firearm prohibition order, possessing a defaced firearm and possessing ammunition.
"The man, who is a high-ranking member of the Finks OMCG, was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court," police stated.
Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity, police stated.
