A mum has managed to chase away a man that attempted to grab her four-year-old boy in the car park of a Richmond shopping complex.
The pair had been shopping at the March Street complex on Friday, August 9 and were in the car park about 12.10pm when they were approached by a man, police said in a statement.
"[The man] attempted to lift the boy up and away from his mother," police stated.
"His mother yelled out and the man ran into the ... complex. She reported the incident to centre management who alerted police."
The man has been described as aged in his late 50s, with a medium build, chubby face, clean shaven, short brown/grey curly hair, dark round eyes and large lips.
Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed or captured the incident on dashcam to contact them.
