Wentworth Healthcare, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network, has appointed Windsor GP, Dr Tony Rombola, as its new Board Chair.
Dr Rombola has been a Director on the Wentworth Healthcare Board since 2013 and has worked as a GP in the Windsor area for over 25 years.
He currently works at Kable Street General Practice, and has also provided services to a men's rehabilitation centre in Yarramundi and to a number of Residential Aged Care Facilities in the Hawkesbury.
Dr Rombola has a keen interest in medical education. He is an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame Sydney Medical School and also a GP Supervisor with GP Synergy. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a founding committee member of the Hawkesbury Doctor's Network.
Dr Rombola said, "In taking over this role, I am keen to continue our organisation's focus of supporting the delivery of accessible, high quality and integrated healthcare to the people living in our region, and advocating for both the needs of our community and the needs of our healthcare professionals."
Outgoing Chair, Dr Andrew Knight, leaves the Board in November after serving over seven years as a Director.
"I would like to thank Andrew for his contribution to our organisation, and in particular for his leadership over the last four years as Board Chair," said Dr Rombola.
Lizz Reay, CEO of Wentworth Healthcare, said Dr Rombola had a strong history with the organisation, and the members of Wentworth Healthcare were excited to have his skills and experience at the helm.
"Under his leadership, we look forward to continuing our work to improve the health outcomes of our region," said Ms Reay.
