GROSE Wold's Maddison Camilleri has been recognised for her work at engineering consultant company SCP Consulting in Sydney, winning the Trainee of the Year award at the prestigious Central and Northern Sydney Regional Training Awards Presentation Event at Chatswood.
The NSW Training Awards are conducted annually by the NSW Department of Industry's Training Services NSW to recognise outstanding achievements in the vocational education and training sector.
Ms Camilleri, who obtained a Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design at TAFE NSW Ultimo, was among four TAFE NSW students claiming awards from the six on offer at the event.
"I'm so excited to have won this award. My time at TAFE NSW opened up so many doors for me and has made me really passionate about becoming an ambassador for VET training as I believe it doesn't receive enough recognition," Ms Camilleri said.
TAFE NSW Regional General Manager Alison Wood congratulated Ms Camilleri for her hard work and dedication to her field.
"These awards recognise our most passionate, industrious and skillful students, and they should be very proud to have been acknowledged for their excellence amongst their peers from across the region," Ms Wood said.
"I have no doubt Maddison will go on to forge a highly successful career and will be a wonderful ambassador for TAFE NSW."
Ms Camilleri and the other winners from the Central and Northern Sydney Training Award section will be considered for the NSW Training Awards held in September.
