A female police officer has been treated in hospital after allegedly being kicked in the face while attempting to arrest a man in Glossodia.
Hawkesbury police were called to Boomerang Drive in relation to the complaint about 8.15pm on Sunday, June 2, and spoke to a number of witnesses before attending a Mitchell Drive home, according to a police statement.
"At the home officers spoke with a 37-year-old man who allegedly became very aggressive as they attempted to arrest him and kicked the female constable in the face," the statement said.
"The officers managed to arrest the man and he was taken to Hawkesbury police station where he was charged with assault police, drive under the influence of alcohol, operate vehicle so driving wheels undergo loss of traction."
The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Windsor Local Court on June 27.
The officer was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for treatment to her jaw and has since returned home, police stated.
