Just 57 votes now separate the two major party candidates in Macquarie a week after counting began in the 2019 federal election.
ELECTION | Richards ahead with 88 per cent of vote counted
The Liberal Party's Sarah Richards still leads the poll on a two party preferred basis, with the latest figures published by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) at 4pm yesterday (May 26) showing her just 57 votes ahead of Labor's Susan Templeman.
A total of 88.21 per cent of the vote has now been counted, with counting to resume today.
Macquarie is one of three seats nationally still being counted by the AEC, alongside Bass in Tasmania and Lilley in Queensland.
