As Anzac Day 2019 approaches, Richmond Club chairman Geoff Luscombe has shared memories of the club his veteran parents helped establish.
Mr Luscombe grew up on the very street on which the Richmond landmark now sits, and in this week's podcast recalls riding his bike down to watch the bowls as a child.
"I still remember the old building. Dad was a director of the club and one of the founding members ... and mum was the first female to join the club," Mr Luscombe said.
"It was to do with mateship, camaraderie, and that's how all these clubs started off."
