Liberal candidate for Macquarie Sarah Richards has been left "sore and quite bruised" following a weekend crash that badly damaged her campaign car.
Ms Richards confirmed the incident on social media, which occurred in Richmond in the afternoon of last Sunday, April 14.
Pictures showed the front of the 'Sarah Richards for Macquarie' branded blue Suzuki Swift badly damaged, with the bonnet bent up, extensive damage to the front bumper, and airbags clearly visible.
Ms Richards said everyone involved had been treated and fortunately no one had suffered any serious injuries in the incident.
"Thank you so much for all the kind messages," she told followers on her Facebook page.
"Please keep in mind everyone involved who has been hurt and shaken by this accident.
"I am very sore and quite bruised but otherwise OK and I promise to be back on my feet soon."

A Hawkesbury police spokesman said a police report was not on the system when requested by the Gazette on Monday.
