THE staff at Oakville Preschool Learning Centre have been named small business champions in the country-wide Australian Small Business Champion Awards.
The crew were named winners of the Early Childhood Services award for 2019 - one of only two Hawkesbury businesses to receive awards along with One Giant Leap from South Windsor.
Elizabeth Sheridan, owner of Oakville Preschool Learning Centre, said she was honoured to receive the award, which was presented at a gala dinner in Sydney on Saturday, April 6.
"This is a massive achievement and highlights our exceptional centre, our passionate staff and the commitment to the children and families of the Hawkesbury and surrounding suburbs," she said.
"In the words of founder Steve Low, 'The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is the pinnacle of business success. They recognise the values associated with successful small businesses. These values include service, commitment, leadership, endurance, courage, innovation, performance, persuasion and generosity.'"
Mrs Sheridan said the Oakville team were up against 20 other elite preschool services for the award - finalists from thousands of entries from around the country.
"Our families have justifiably high expectations in terms of the quality of care their children receive and the overall experience they have at Oakville Preschool Learning Centre, and on top of this, we put high expectations on ourselves. Winning this award is recognition of achieving these high expectations," she said.
"I personally couldn't be any prouder of my team. This award recognises and celebrates their continued success. A big thank you to the team and to our families who support us."
The Australian Small Business Champion Awards, run by Precedent Productions, seek to acknowledge the hard work that business owners contribute to the local community in generating employment for millions of Australians, as well as their contribution to the Australian economy.
