Hawkesbury City Council has completed landscape renovations at St Albans Park as part of its Park Upgrade Program, as well as various road upgrades.
Completed works in the town include an upgraded tennis court, landscaping renovations at St Albans Park, new fencing at St Albans Cemetery on Settlers Road, and more sealed roads.
At St Albans Park, there are new steps to the beach to allow for a safer access to the river, additional bollards to reduce car access around the play space, furniture has been renovated, vegetation removed, and the unique sculpture has undergone repairs. The budget for this project was $36,000.
At St Albans Tennis Court, fences were replaced, and a new playing surface and line marking was installed, with a budget of $69,500.
St Albans Cemetery on Settlers Road had its old timber fence replaced for $17,000 and Council is supporting the community with assistance to remove the vegetation cleared during a recent working bee.
Road rehabilitation work was completed at Upper Macdonald Road, Wollombi Road and Espie Street, St Albans as part of the Road Upgrade Program.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert, Councillors and staff visited St Albans residents and members of the Macdonald Valley Association last week to see the completed works and the mayor commended residents involved in the working bee at the cemetery.
