The new Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) Western Sydney Facility will officially open its doors to the public for its inaugural Adoption Day on Sunday, March 24.
Located at the Triple Crown Pet Resort on Reynolds Road, Londonderry, the facility will be awash with fun and excitement.
The day will be full of activities for potential adopters who will have the chance to meet a range of greyhounds looking for a new home.
It will feature a jumping castle, face-painting, coffee cart, music and a sausage sizzle.
Greyhound Racing NSW CEO Tony Mestrov said he was excited to see the facility open its doors and that he was proud to see his team's hard work come to life.
"We are really looking forward to Sunday," said Mestrov.
"We have a genuine focus on our GAP program so by having a re-homing facility in Western Sydney, it provides us with a fantastic opportunity to get in touch with a real heartland of greyhound racing.
"We feel that we will be able to have an impact in the area and Sunday will hopefully lay a good platform of some exciting things to come."
The increasingly popular GAP NSW Adoption Days have proven to be a successful vehicle for re-homing greyhounds recently.
Adoption days held at Dapto, Kellyville and Wentworth Park have all seen a large number of greyhounds adopted out to new homes.
The days provide a fantastic opportunity for those interested in adopting a greyhound to meet the dogs first-hand, spend some time with their new member of the family and speak with the trained GAP NSW staff on hand about each of the dogs available.
