Hawkesbury Hornets BMX Club will be holding a day for locals to come and try to ride BMX this Sunday, February 24 at Colbee Park.
Club President Trent Lupton said that it is an opportunity for “more local kids or adults to come and try BMX.
The Hornets are welcoming everyone to come, no matter age or ability.
“It is a free day with professional coaches that will explain and demonstrate the art of BMX racing,” said Lupton.
The professional coaches will be able to spend time teaching all levels of BMX riding.
All participants will need to do is bring along any type of BMX bike, themselves and safety clothing.
Safety clothing includes:
- Long pants
- Long sleeved shirts
- Closed in shoes
- A helmet.
The club will have a small amount of safety gear that will be lent out where necessary.
“We would welcome anyone regardless if they have tried a BMX track before or not,” said Lupton
“It’s a great way to stay fit and be a part of a small but passionate community.”
The Hornets are a small club and are hoping to expand in 2019 with numerous large events, and to become more popular in the Hawkesbury region by teaching BMX racing to anyone interested.
The day will be run from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, February 24 at the clubs track at Clobee Park, Bismark St McGraths Hill.
