Rotary Windsor fundraiser helps Fitzgerald Aged Care Windsor purchase shower chair for residents

The residents of Fitzgerald Aged Care will soon have a brand new shower chair thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of Windsor.

Rotary Windsor hosted a barbecue at Bunnings McGraths Hill in December, with all profits going towards a specialised shower chair worth $3,000.

The aged care facility, located in Windsor, needs at least four of these chairs to meet the increasing demand for frail residents.

Lauren Kent, administration at Fitzgerald Aged Care, said: “With the changes being made to the funding of Aged Care, it is times like this that we rely on the generosity of the community and organisations such as Windsor Rotary to be able to provide the exceptional care for our residents that Fitzgerald is known for.”

Christine Paine, director at Fitzgerald Aged Care, said the “good news story” comes at a time when some nursing homes are in the media with bad news stories.

“We’re doing all we can for our residents; we don’t have any bad news stories here,” she said.
