A learner driver who allegedly displayed green P-plates has been arrested at Lower Portland for drink driving.
Hawkesbury police said the 20-year-old man’s vehicle was stopped by officers patrolling River Road about 5pm on Australia Day, and he was subjected to a roadside breath test.
“It was ascertained, however, that the man was the holder of a learner’s permit,” police said in a statement.
“The roadside test returned a positive indication of alcohol, resulting in the man being placed under arrest and conveyed to Wisemans Ferry Police Station for a breath analysis.
“Police will allege that a reading of 0.118, which falls into the mid-range, was returned.”
The man’s learner’s permit was suspended and he is due to appear before Windsor Local Court next month.
