IMPROVEMENTS works at Hawkesbury Council’s Companion Animal Shelter at Mulgrave are set to begin this week.
Council stated the works would improve conditions for dogs and cats while they are waiting to be rehomed.

Stage 1 of the works involves replacing the roof over the existing dog kennels with a pitched roof that will minimise direct sunlight during summer and optimise sunlight during winter.
Council aims to have Stage 1 works completed by March.
The works were made possible by a $100,000 donation from a Windsor resident, and a $75,000 contribution from another donor.
The $100,000 donation was from the deceased estate of animal lover Anna Zylstra, who left money to the Shelter as part of her wish to help animals.
