CELEBRATE Australia Day 2019 on the banks of the beautiful Hawkesbury River at Windsor, at a free family fun, food and fireworks community event hosted by Hawkesbury City Council.
Peter Conroy, General Manager of Hawkesbury Council, said: “Council will host its Australia Day event, ‘Australia Day on the Hawkesbury’ from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday, 26 January 2019 at Governor Phillip Park, proudly sponsored by Windsor RSL, Hawkesbury Race Club, Richmond Club, Hillbilly Cider and Prismatic Events.”
The festivities will include an outdoor stage with live entertainment including local artists and the ‘Let’s Groove Tonight’ band.
Jumping castles, a giant water slide, carnival rides, free face painting, roving entertainment and other fun children’s activities and games will entertain the kids, while parents and carers can relax and enjoy the atmosphere by the Hawkesbury River.
There is also the recently completed playspace at Governor Phillip Park for children to enjoy.
A variety of food trucks with hot food and refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
A RAAF Striker Fire Truck will be on site for public access from 6pm to 8pm.
The celebrations will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm on the river.
