Hawkesbury Cricket Club convincingly defeated table topping Sydney University in their two-day match, which finished on Saturday.
A 164 run haul from Peter Forrest and a team total of 313 last weekend set the foundations for the Hawks.
On day two it was up to the bowlers to perform ... and they did.
Chris Lawrence took some early wickets, leaving Uni at 4/19. Class batsmen Damien Mortimer and Tim Cummins made amends, putting together a partnership of 116.
Lawrence managed to catch and bowl Cummins before Hawkesbury’s opening batsman, Josh Clarke stepped in and clean bowled Mortimer straight after.
The Hawks were able to knock off the rest of the batting line up quite quickly.
Uni only scored 32 after Cummins and Mortimer fell. The side’s total was just 167.
The Hawks were led by Clarke, who ended with 3/10 from just six overs.
It was win two for the Hawks, who look to take the good form into this week’s clash against Campbelltown-Camden at home.
