A BAND ensemble from Kuyper Christian School provided a welcome spot of Christmas entertainment for the residents at Uniting Hawkesbury Richmond on Friday (November 30).
Year 4 and music teacher Rob Weule said the performance was part of a “wonderful music and band program”, now in its second year operating at the school.
“This Friday we will be taking the Concert Band on a Day Tour playing at some of the local Nursing Homes and Retirement Villages,” he said ahead of the performance.
“We will have about 35 musicians on tour on the day ranging in ages 9- 13. We are greatly looking forward to performing for the residents and enjoying some Christmas music as part of our show.”
Mr Weule said the pupils recently met Dr Anita Collins while playing at a music festival, as part of the school’s music program.
Dr Collins is an award-winning educator, researcher and writer in the field of brain development and music learning, and recently appeared with Guy Sebastian on ABC TV’s Don’t Stop The Music.
