A man has died after being pulled unconscious from the Colo River.
Emergency services were called to the river near Putty Road about 11.50am on Sunday, December 2 following reports the man had been pulled unconscious from the water.
“Witnesses commenced CPR on the 32-year-old man until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene,” a NSW Police statement said.
“Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Hawkesbury police said in a statement the man was a Malaysian national who had gotten into diffculty while swimming in the river.
“People with the man attempted to provide assistance but could not recover the man who slipped underwater. He was located a short time later and attempts made to resuscitate until the arrival of police,” the statement said.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner in relation to the incident.
