A group of hard working Hawkesbury fundraisers have proven their skills on a national level.
The Murray Marathon Maniacs (MMM) Kayaking Team have have returned from the Massive Murray Paddle with two boasts.
Competing in the name of the Blue Datto Foundation, as road safety awareness is to their hearts, they were named highest fundraiser at the start of the event.
They were also declared winners in their competitive class.
The Paddle is promoted as an annual, five-day, outdoor educational adventure and paddling relay event on the Murray River.
Its aim is to connect people, river and country and raises funds to assist local community driven programs.
The MMM team raised $24,327 at a golf day they hosted in October.
Katrina Croquett along with Danielle and William Mizzi were the three returning team members for MMM.
This year they were joined by Gabrielle Wickham, Kayleen Waddups, Vanessa Eyles, Janelle O'Reilly and Amber Swirski.
The team completed the paddle, finished their fundraising with $26,577 [coming in second], just $800 shy from the number one placegetter.
The Maniacs ended up finishing the 404 kilometer race in 17th for the relay section and first in their class of RKL2 mixed relay with a time of 39 hours and eight minutes.
All the money raised will be used to assist in the delivery of the Blue Dattos Keeping Safe Program to high school students in NSW.
