WA coach Adam Voges predicts Shaun and Mitch Marsh will have a big impact for Australia this summer - as long as they are in the right head space.
The Marsh brothers were facing the axe following poor displays in the recent two-Test series against Pakistan.
But the duo have bounced back strongly since then, producing a series of big knocks to confirm their spots for the upcoming four-Test series against India, starting in Adelaide on December 6.
Shaun has compiled scores of 80, 98, 21, and 163no in Shield ranks over the past three weeks, and also posted totals of 106 and 22 in two ODIs against South Africa.
Mitch scored 151 against Queensland earlier this month and a handy 44 in the recent win against South Australia.
Importantly, the 27-year-old has also been able to increase his bowling loads without any injury setbacks.
Former Australia fast bowler Geoff Lawson raised eyebrows earlier this week when he called for selectors to move on from the Marsh brothers, dubbing them a "perpetual disappointment".
Voges reckons the Marsh brothers will produce the goods against India.
"I think Shaun and Mitch are both going to be big players for Australia during the summer," Voges said.
"It's not about form for them - it's about their mindset. If they get that right, I think they'll play good, consistent cricket."
Shaun's class was on display against South Australia.
With WA struggling at 4-113 chasing 313 for victory, Marsh slugged 22 fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 163 to guide his team to a five-wicket win.
Voges rated it as one of the best knocks he's seen from the 35-year-old.
"To be able to play that sort of innings under that pressure, I thought it was outstanding," Voges said.
Mitch's ability to get through 27 overs for the match - and snare 2-42 in the first innings - also impressed Voges.
"He balances any team he comes into, being able to provide those high-quality overs and bat in your top six," Voges said.
