Hawkesbury skiing fans are gearing up for the annual Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic taking place this weekend, November 24 and 25.
What started in 1961 with just 20 competitors has become one of Australia’s most renowned and prestigious water ski races.
Running for some 112km, racers of all skill levels speed from the mouth of the Hawkesbury River to Windsor.
Spectators set up along the river bank and watch competitors strive for their personal bests in this now international event.
Last year’s best time came from Merc Force, consisting of Don Gulley, Kevin Boylan, Kristofer Knight and Jake Tegart who set a new record time of 00:37:34:3.
The race is set to once again bring in a large number of competitors and spectators from all across Australia.
Windsor Stadium, Governor Phillip Park will once again host the finishing point of the race, with plenty of space for families and locals to come out and watch.
