As jockey Kerrin McEvoy was guiding Cross Counter to victory in the Melbourne Cup, his five-year-old son Rhys was pretending to ride along with him.
Rhys was even dressed like a mini version of his dad, in the Godolphin blue colours.
"I was riding on the couch when he was riding in the Melbourne Cup," Rhys said on Wednesday, still dressed in his jockey gear and carrying his dad's Cup trophy.
Cross Counter's win in Tuesday's $7.3 million race was McEvoy's third victory in the Melbourne Cup.
But it could prove to be expensive for the jockey, who first promised his wife Cathy and four children a swimming pool if he won before upgrading the pledge to a new home.
"We've got a family of four kids and a bigger house is probably on the cards now," McEvoy told reporters.
McEvoy earned $200,000 for his Cup win and $300,000 after winning the $13 million race The Everest last month.
