A 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital suffering serious injuries after being discovered lying on Bells Line of Road by a passing motorist.
The motorist spotted the boy on the western side of North Richmond bridge about 9.20pm on Monday, November 5, police said in a statement.
“The motorist stopped and called police who arrived on scene to find the boy suffering suspected fractures and head injuries,” police stated.
“He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition.”
A crime scene was established on the eastern side of the North Richmond Bridge where investigators believe the boy was hit by a car that left the scene.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are conducting further inquiries into the incident and are calling for anyone who may have information that could assist to come forward.
