Following much-needed rain that resulted in a washout of Hawkesbury’s last scheduled race meeting on October 7, racing returns to the Clarendon track on Thursday, where the club combines forces with Richmond Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Learning Links is a charity which provides funds for children with learning difficulties reach their full potential and Hawkesbury Race Club chief executive, Greg Rudolph, rates the day as one of the highlights of the spring.
“Not only are we in a great time of the racing season, but this day provides a much needed platform for such an important charity, assisting families of children with learning needs,” he said.
“Last year over $30,000 in funds were raised and with great prizes again on offer, I’m sure we’ll see that figure topped this year.

“The Richmond Club has done a great job in again seeking support and the day could not be a success without their continued assistance.”
In a great start to the new racing season, Hawkesbury trainers provided a treble on two tracks, namely Wyong and Nowra last Sunday, October 21.
In the process, the three winners lifted to 40 – including 13 this month – the number of winners prepared by Hawkesbury trainers since the new season began on August 1.
